We look forward to receiving your application!We are now seeking a research engineer in immunology with a focus on leukemia physiology.The positionYou will primarily work on projects focused on understanding how blood cancer cells affect immune systems in various tissues such as the spleen, lymph nodes, and parts of the brain. Your work aims to increase our understanding of the underlying causes that allow leukemia cells to grow in different organs, and what effects cancer cells have on immune cell function within these tissues. A special focus will be placed on studying the impact of leukemia cells on the cells of the nervous system.Your work will include experimental tumor models, where you will analyze tissues using both histological methods and flow cytometry, as well as RNA sequencing. In addition to your experimental work with generating of new data through in vitro and in vivo experiments, you will analyze data generated through high-throughput sequencing techniques. You will specifically work with integrated analyses of ATAC- and RNA-seq data from single cells. For this, you need to be proficient in using existing tools for bioinformatics analysis.The work is varied, and there are great opportunities for personal development within our projects and through collaboration with other research groups in Sweden and abroad.The person we needWe are looking for a candidate with a PhD in cell biology or a related field, and postdoctoral experience in both neurobiology and yumor physiology.The person we need has:
  • very good knowledge and documented experience in advanced cell biology, in vivo models, flow cytometry, and omics data analysis, including single-cell data analysis
  • good collaboration skills as well as the ability to take responsibility and work independently
It is considered a merit if you have:
  • experience working in different environments, with experiences from multiple academic institutions
  • previous experience supervising colleagues or team members
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is a requirement for the position.The workplaceYou will be working at the , located at the university hospital campus at Linköping University. The department consists of 12 independent research groups aiming to understand the molecular mechanisms behind medical conditions such as inflammation, infection, and cancer. You will work in a research group of 7 scientists with diverse skills and research backgrounds.
