Right now, we’re searching for a ML Engineer in our Stockholm office – are you ready to hit play on an exciting career change?The RoleWe’re looking for a ML Engineer who’s excited about using data and technology to shape how millions of people experience entertainment. At Viaplay, our ML team works at the heart of personalization, customer engagement, and product innovation.In this role, you’ll contribute to building and improving the machine learning models and systems that power our platform. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to bring ideas to life — from recommending the right content to understanding our users better.   • Design, train, and deploy machine learning models for recommendations, predictions, and classifications
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, content, commercial, marketing to turn business needs into ML-powered solutions
  • Build and maintain reliable ML pipelines in a modern, cloud-based environment
  • Monitor and evaluate models to ensure they perform well and fairly in production
  • Share knowledge, learn from others, and contribute to a culture of experimentation and curiosity
What we’re looking forWe understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience applying ML or Data Science in a production setting
  • Experience working on projects end-to-end: defining problems, prototyping, deploying, and monitoring
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, experience with data transformation using Spark
  • Knowledge of data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow (or similar)
  • Clear communication skills, you can explain complex topics in a way others understand
  • A focus on building ML systems that are reliable, understandable, and sustainable
  • A background in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience
It’s a bonus if you have:
  • Experience with recommender systems or personalization
  • Familiarity with A/B testing or causal inference
  • Knowledge of MLOps practices (CI/CD for ML, monitoring, observability)
  • Experience in media, streaming, or e-commerce
