It's a full-time job for 2 years.Subject areaPolitical scienceSubject area descriptionPolitical science is the study of politics, and we welcome applicants from all subdisciplines of political science.DutiesThe employment as a postdoctoral fellow aims to give the employee an early opportunity to develop his independence as a researcher after completing his doctoral degree and to create the conditions for further qualifications. The person employed as a postdoctoral fellow must mainly conduct research. Teaching can be included in the work duties, but to a maximum of one-fifth of the working time.As a postdoctoral researcher, you are expected to conduct research within a well-defined field of research that falls within a broad understanding of what constitutes a 'political challenge.' The research may relate to various political science sub-disciplines, such as political theory, comparative politics, international politics, or public policy and administration (or a combination of different sub-disciplines). The postdoctoral position offers opportunities to independently develop your own ideas. The position is not linked to any of the department's ongoing projects but provides excellent opportunities to interact with other postdoctoral researchers and researchers within the political science department's strong research environments.EligibilityEligible to be employed as a postdoctoral fellow is someone who has a doctorate in political science or a closely related subject at the latest at the time the employment decision is made. In the first instance, those who have completed their degree no more than three years before the end of the application period should be considered. The subject area covered by the vacancy is broad, and we are looking for someone with a strong ability to define relevant problems and feasible research projects.As the working language is mainly English, very good written and spoken English skills are required.To succeed in this position, you must have an eye for detail, good organizational skills and problem-solving abilities. You have very good communication and collaboration skills.Great importance is attached to personal suitability for the position.
