As our Senior Mechanical Lead for the Docking Product Unit within the Business Segment Industrial (BSI) at ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our docking solutions. You'll take the lead in mechanical design and product development, driving innovation and continuous improvement across our portfolio.In this role, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-spanning innovation, design, production, and installation-to ensure our solutions exceed expectations in quality, functionality, and performance. With your technical expertise and problem-solving mindset, you'll be a driving force in delivering reliable, smart, and future-proof products.You will report directly to the R&D Manager - Docking, and be part of an experienced, forward-thinking team with a strong passion for engineering excellence.You would also:
- Provide technical leadership to the R&D team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Drive innovation by identifying opportunities for new technologies, product improvements, and process enhancements.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and validation testing of prototypes and final products.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations throughout the development process.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components for prototypes and production.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in mechanical design and engineering.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Experience working with tools and platforms like JIRA, Confluence, Teamcenter, and Tacton.
- Solid understanding of engineering processes from concept to production.
