Together we work constantly to improve the IKEA home furnishing offer and make it more accessible for the many people. IKEA Supply is responsible for sourcing, manufacturing, transporting, storing, and supplying the global IKEA range of furniture, furnishings as well as food. The Legal & Governance function of core business IKEA Supply provides legal advice within a wide spectrum of areas.Job DescriptionWe are looking to strengthen our legal support to core business Supply, with focus on business units IKEA Industry and IKEA Components, as well as indirect procurement for the Inter IKEA Group, by recruiting a skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team.In this role you will:
  • Join our local team of three lawyers based in Malmö, Sweden but closely cooperate with the other lawyers part of Supply and Inter IKEA Group
  • Plan, draft and negotiate local and international contracts of different kinds
  • Provide practical, business oriented legal advice to various stakeholders in multiple jurisdictions on issues which arise in the course of supplier management (e.g. claims, disputes, insolvency, competition law, export control, and other regulatory issues)
  • Help to develop and implement policies, processes, template agreements, checklists and other tools
  • Train and develop strong contract managers (non-lawyers)
  • Help to select, manage and develop external legal advisers
QualificationsIn order to successfully fill this position, the IKEA values reflect upon your values, you share the IKEA Vision and Business Idea and you bring/are:
  • Law degree
  • Proven experience (ideally five years plus) as legal counsel or lawyer in a business environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication capabilities - being able to cooperate and communicate with different stakeholders
  • Ability to share specialist knowledge with others in an easy, understandable and uncomplicated way
  • Successful in building trustful relations in multicultural environments and high level of integrity
  • Driven team player who can work independently as well
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented, hands-on and cost-conscious
