It is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that operates in a number of areas and in various ways within the steel industry.We are participating in a project where Stegra AB establishes a steel mill in Norra Svartbyn in Boden, where steel will be produced through an almost fossil-free process using hydrogen gas. Our mission is, among other things, to install machines used in steel production and includes work in mechanics, electronics and plumbing.We now want to employ a Mechanical Technician. The work tasks may include but are not limited to:Job Description - Mechanical TechnicianPosition SummaryThe Mechanical Technician shall perform duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment at project sites, under the supervision and direction of Mechanical Engineers and Site Management. The role requires technical competence, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. This position is classified as one level below the Mechanical Engineer role.Qualifications (not mandatory)

Diploma or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 3-5 years of proven practical experience in mechanical installation, maintenance, or repair within industrial projects (Steel Plant, Power & Heat, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical).
Hands-on experience with rotary and static equipment installation, pressure vessels, storage tanks, conveyors, and steel structures.
Working knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, EN) applicable to mechanical works.
Familiarity with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to construction and industrial sites.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
Basic reporting skills and ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with project requirements.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Mechanical Technician shall, under the authority and supervision of Mechanical Engineers and Site Management, be responsible for the following: * Assisting in the execution of all assigned mechanical works within the designated scope of the project.

Performing installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems as directed.
Conducting inspections of materials and equipment prior to and during installation to ensure compliance with project standards.
Supporting the coordination of materials, tools, and equipment required for mechanical works.
Monitoring and assisting subcontractors and field teams to ensure works are carried out in compliance with applicable quality standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.
Complying with all occupational health and safety requirements during execution of duties.
Carrying out tests, inspections, and quality checks as instructed, and reporting any non-conformance or defects to the supervising Engineer.
Maintaining accurate records of daily work performed, materials used, and progress achieved, for submission to supervisors.
Supporting labour-hour tracking and efficiency reporting as required by site management.
Assisting in the verification of subcontractors' work quantities and supporting documentation for progress reporting.
