Working Hours: Monday – Friday, Office HoursAbout the RoleWe are currently seeking a Senior Purchaser – CAPEX to join our team at a leading customer site within the GoCo Health Innovation City. In this key role, you will manage the end-to-end purchasing and sourcing of capital assets—primarily for GMP production areas—ensuring alignment with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and strategic sourcing goals.This position requires a seasoned purchasing professional with proven experience in the life science industry, particularly in environments governed by GMP. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with asset users and vendors, contract negotiation, and a strong understanding of technical and compliance documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer-Focused ActivitiesSource CAPEX in line with customer URS (User Requirement Specifications) and strategic direction.Negotiate terms & conditions with vendors and ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery.Manage vendor communication to proactively resolve potential delays or blockers.Translate URS into vendor-specific requirements and ensure proper documentation.Provide support in freight scheduling, decommissioning, and adjacent sourcing tasks.Advise customers on total cost of ownership and environmental impact throughout asset lifecycle.Understand and support quality processes related to GMP (IQ, OQ, PQ) and Quality Assurance for capital assets.Company-Focused ActivitiesEnsure alignment with Avantor’s vision, strategy, and policies.Operate in compliance with local and international procurement regulations.Contribute to the achievement of individual performance goals.Continuously improve procedures, tools, and sourcing capabilities.Your ProfileMinimum 5 years' experience in a purchasing role within the life science or pharmaceutical industry.Demonstrated ability to negotiate with vendors and manage supplier relationships.Strong knowledge of GMP requirements and procurement practices related to regulated environments.Hands-on experience with sourcing tools and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, iBuy, Coupa, or MS Dynamics.Solid understanding of procurement contract language and Swedish B2B business law.Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.Technical & Interpersonal SkillsHighly organized with attention to detail.Skilled in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).Strong communicator with the ability to engage at all levels of an organization.Flexibility to turn quick decision making into operational actionSolution-oriented, with excellent prioritization and multitasking skills.Comfortable working independently as well as in cross-functional teams.Physically capable of performing occasional lifting, walking, and standing.Committed to continuous improvement, safety, and quality.Why Join Us?
