Role SummeryThis role is a part of TRATON Group R&D, located in Södertälje, Sweden.The objective of this role is to lead the modularization of ICE and fuel-cell systems within the Value Coordination Flow by setting the shared technical direction, creating architectural guidelines, providing recommendations for solution releases and driving modular system design that enables efficient adjustments over time. To ensure systems meet all brand needs and comply with current and future emission regulations while delivering best-in-class uptime and fuel economy, balancing performance through a deep understanding of thermodynamics, chemistry, hardware, software and other cross-functional requirements. The role contributes to the TRATON modular toolbox by fostering global collaboration and innovation across all relevant technology areas. Job responsibilitiesAs the Solution Architect, you set and share a unified technical vision across the Value Coordination Flow, align multiple teams and suppliers around it, enforce modularization principles, bring deep expertise in architecture and system design, and identify new technologies to support the solution roadmap. This includes defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across the VCF and aligning solution builders from multiple Value Creation Teams (VCTs) and suppliers to a common technical direction.

Influence solution roadmaps and align stakeholders on direction.
Ensure continuous delivery and operational flow.
Guide and evolve the technological solution while maintaining the architectural runway and modularization responsibilities.
Drive technical meetings, foster innovation and explore technical alternatives.
Collaborate on solution design across teams and suppliers.
Track technology innovations and assess their fit for current and future solutions.

Who You AreTo succeed you'll need a solid grasp of modularization, strong technical and analytical skills, the ability to design cross-disciplinary solutions and clear communication.Personal competencies

Ability to analyse complex problems, identify root causes, and propose workable solutions, with skills in conducting analysis and drawing conclusions based on data and evidence.
Ability to balance requirements and constraints from multiple cross-functional teams, while managing and engaging with stakeholders at different levels.
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly and communicate effectively in both verbal and written form for different audiences.
Experience in leading teams or initiatives, combined with an understanding and application of system engineering management practices
Capacity to plan, coordinate, and organize work, tasks, activities, and resources in a logical and structured manner.

Required skills

University Degree - Engineering
Ten or more years of working experience in R&D in multinational environment.
A minimum of five years leadership experience
System engineering management
Technical knowledge and experience in combustion engine, EAT and/or EE development
Knowledge in modularization
