Before a Ph.D. or a doctorate degree has been awarded, however, duties of this kind may not comprise more than 20 per cent of full-time doctoral studies.Starting date: September 2024.Job descriptionThis position requires that the doctoral dissertation work is conducted within the area of corporate governance.This link below provides further information about our research and education:Doctoral studies in business administration at Linnaeus University encompass four years of full-time, funded studies. Students will complete 240 credits, of which 90 are courses, and the dissertation corresponds to 150 credits. Compulsory courses include 30 credits in methodology.Please find further information about our doctoral education at this link:The applicant who is appointed to doctoral studies will participate in the research school and work closely with companies in the Kronoberg region. The research school is a unique interdisciplinary initiative of the School of Business and Economics and the Faculty of Technology at Linnaeus University. Its aim is to address challenges posed by globalization, new technologies such as automation, digitalization, and AI, and the environmental and climate problems. The Kronoberg region is well known for its small and medium-sized companies, as well as large companies. An example is Södra, a leading company in the forest industry ( ). The practical relevance of the dissertation topic and research questions will be discussed in collaboration with one or more companies in the Kronoberg region.Eligibility requirementsGeneral entry requirements:An applicant meets the general entry requirements for third-cycle courses and study programmes if the applicant * Has been awarded a second-cycle qualification (master's degree), or
  • has satisfied the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits were awarded in the second cycle, or
  • has acquired the equivalent knowledge in some other way in Sweden or abroad.
Specific entry requirements: * A minimum of 90 credits in the subject of Business Administration or in subjects linked to third-cycle studies in Business Administration or equivalent knowledge acquired otherwise in Sweden or abroad
  • at least 15 credits in second-cycle and third-cycle studies in the subject of Business Administration or subjects linked to third-cycle studies in Business Administration, including an independent academic project at first or second-cycle level
  • a good knowledge of English and Swedish.
Additional requirementsThis position requires that the applicant has good written and oral knowledge of Swedish.Assessment criteriaThe choice of a doctoral student relies on the applicant's abilities to carry out the doctoral studies successfully.
