Om jobbet:For our client, we are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to take on a central role between the design department and strategic procurement in a global company in Ludvika. This is a new position where you will have the opportunity to shape the role yourself - perfect for someone who is self-driven, curious, and unafraid to take initiative.You will be part of a department consisting of both mechanical and electrical engineers, working on everything from large development projects to smaller design changes. The team holds deep expertise and long experience - but it will be up to you to take ownership of your tasks and actively seek support when needed.About the role As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work on a wide range of engineering tasks, from planning and designing to modifying machinery, equipment, and products. You will act as the link between design and strategic procurement, and your responsibilities will include:
  • Responding to and managing drawing-related questions, including making revisions when necessary.
  • Communicating with strategic buyers and suppliers to clarify technical questions and qualify suppliers.
  • Participating in type testing and supporting R&D projects.
  • Providing technical sales support to marketing and sales for more complex applications.
  • Collaborating closely with supply chain, production, marketing & sales, as well as external partners and customers.
  • Supporting the creation of technical training material for customers.
  • Preparing reports and performing analyses using computer-based tools and software.
You will work closely with the design team and have their support, but you will be the “filter” between the team and procurement. This requires both strong technical competence and excellent communication skills.We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Has several years of work experience - this is not a role for a newly graduated engineer.
  • Has good knowledge of Creo and Windchill (experience with SAP is an advantage).
  • Communicates fluently in English, both spoken and written. Swedish is a strong advantage, especially when communicating with production.
  • Is self-driven, takes initiative, and has a humble approach to learning new things.
