Om jobbet:The Automation research group at the Department of Electrical Engineering is recruiting a postdoc to contribute to advanced research in discrete-event systems.We are an internationally renowned research group that views automation engineering as a key enabler for new methods and applications, driving and benefiting from the ongoing digitalization of society. Our research emphasizes social, economic, and environmental sustainability.As a postdoc, you will become part of a dynamic team that offers a stimulating and flexible work environment, with opportunities for collaboration and networking both within Chalmers and internationally. Chalmers is an employer that actively promotes equal opportunities for women and men.Project overviewThe project concerns applying supervisory control theory to security in a broad sense, both as off-line and on-line approaches. The work is collaborative in nature, bridging both academic research and industrial applications. In addition to theoretical research, the work might involve implementing new algorithms in the SCT tool Supremica, which is developed by the Automation group.Main responsibilities

Conduct research in collaboration with senior researchers and PhD students in the Automation group, with the primary goal of qualifying for a future academic career.
Contribute to research projects within discrete-event systems, supervisory control theory, and formal verification of automation systems.
Engage in teaching at undergraduate and master's levels, if required.
Collaborate with partners across academia, industry, and society.

Qualifications

PhD degree in control and automation or a related field, with specialization in discrete-event systems, supervisory control theory, and/or formal verification of automation systems. The PhD should have been awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline.*
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Exceptions to the three-year eligibility limit may be made for documented circumstances such as parental leave, sick leave, or military service.Contract termsThe position is a temporary full-time employment for two years with the possibility of a one-year extension.
