This lab will serve pharmaceutical and biotech customers with advanced laboratory services and leading-edge instrumentation across all phases of pharmaceutical development to help deliver life-changing medicines to patients worldwide and will provide comprehensive and full-service solutions, encompassing both small and large molecules, biomarkers and novel modalities.Discover Impactful Work:The Automation Specialist II performs a variety of moderately complex to complex acitivites in support of automated instrumentation. Conducts activities following company SOPs and policies, while also adhering to automation best practices with increased independenceA day in the Life:Maintains maintenance schedule as required for automated instrumentation with minimal supervision.Performs routine to moderately complex hardware replacementsPerforms liquid class testing and/or labware creation for automated liquid handling workstations with minimal supervisionImplements new scripts/methods through developmental testing with supervisionResponds to and aids lab personnel in error handling situations for automated instrumentationDevelops advanced troubleshooting skills (hardware and/or software)May program new (or revise) scripts with moderate to high complexity in support of maintenance activities and/or assay methods on automated instrumentationPosseses excellent documentation skills and adheres to relevant SOPs and laboratory automation best practicesDevelops programming and/or process theory for fully automated workflowsKeys to Success:Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification2+ years previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesDirect experience with Hamilton automation instrumentation strongly preferredProficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with programming (Hamilton Venus, TECAN EVOware or Fluent Control, Thermo Momentum, VB, Python, etc.) strongly preferredProven time management skills; proven ability to self-manage assigned tasksProven ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a teamAbility to understand and independently apply GMPs and /or GLPs to everyday work with regard to documentation and instrument useProven troubelshooting skillsDeveloping critical thinking skillsKnowledge of automated platform software use and intermediate programmingProficient in training of other laboratory staff for preventative maintenance activities and/or high throughput automated sample analysisProven ability to interpret data by performing trend analysisBenefitsWe offer competitive remuneration, annual incentive plan bonus, and a range of employee benefits.
