Job DescriptionJoin Northvolt Ett, Europe's first homegrown battery Gigafactory, as a Industrial PhD within our Mother Plant function, serving as a pivotal interface between Northvolt Ett (our first Gigafactory), forthcoming factories, and the factory design units. Be part of the team that will enable effective scaling production of the world's greenest battery across multiple facilities. Take a key role in enabling our operational readiness through developing best practices that can be deployed across multiple disciplines including logistics, maintenance, utilities and maintenance.Your role will be to ensure future factory designs are based on proven facts from existing factories and take into account
requirements across teams in the factories. Support efficient use of Mother Plant resources to support new expansion projects to enable successful ramp-up.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Drive development of key processes within mother plant, evaluate effectiveness and create actionable use cases to share with future sites
  • Develop our XPS (Northvolt Excellence System) to enable adoption across sites to support performance throughout ramp-up phase and in mass production mode
  • Facilitate operational target setting and operational module updates in collaboration with the Industrial engineers, including targets on Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), head count targets per process station, ramp-up curves, etc.
  • Gather operational requirements for new factories from the operations teams, including floorspace need per functions, people flow, commissioning requirements, etc.
  • Act as the representative for Ett operations in discussion on new design solution addressing the operational requirements
  • Ensure the right functions and expertise is provided as part of input to the blueprint and construction team at the right time
  • Manage design review process and approve new design solutions to ensure alignment with operational needs
  • Develop lessons learned library and feed lessons learned and operational requirements within mother plant and to the upcoming expansion projects
  • Collect, analyse best practices across industries and transfer into actionable intel for Northvolt
  • Develop model for Mother Plant to support new expansion projects in ramp-up phase
