As Head of MDO & Future Battlespace, you will lead our cross-domain, tech-forward Product Unit that explores, prototypes, and delivers projects in emerging mission domains. This role combines hands-on delivery of new projects in unexplored areas, with the responsibility to influence the BU’s R&D agenda, transition successful pilots into the core platform, and engage with partners and customers to shape tomorrow’s battlespace.Key Responsibilities:

Lead the MDO & Future Battlespace Product Unit
Oversee program delivery for active contracts, ensuring targets for schedule, budget, quality, and gross margin are met.
Engage with customers and partners to co-create operational concepts and shape long-lead requirements
Owns higher-level tactical and strategic C2 (HQ-level command systems) as part of the MDO portfolio
Run early-stage projects and pilots, incubating new domains
Build, lead, develop and scale a high-performing team with the right competences for today and tomorrow.
Collaborate with Core Development to ensure all prototypes are platform first and reusable where possible
Develop the team’s innovation culture, encouraging rapid prototyping, agile delivery, and cross-domain collaboration
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and represent the unit across Saab and the defense sector
Own the unit’s budget, forecasts, and financial performance.

Proven leadership in innovative, cross-domain teams in defense, or other complex high-tech environments.
Strong understanding of multi-domain operational concepts and emerging defense technologies.
Experience running early-stage projects.
Experience managing P&L, budgets, and large-scale program delivery.
Strong operational focus with financial accountability.
Excellent communicator and stakeholder manager (Swedish & English).
Skilled in people leadership, resource planning, and competence development.
A structured way of working that you can also create and communicate to your team.
A keen interest in learning new things and adapting to different environments and cultures.
