
Research Specialist in Neuro-Immunity of Allergy

- Design, lead, and execute experiments to investigate how sensory neurons interact with the immune system during allergic inflammation
- Utilize and develop advanced techniques (e.g. optogenetics, state-of-the-art imaging, molecular biology, and animal models of allergy) to unravel neuro-immune mechanisms
- Analyze and interpret data, and publish high-quality research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Supervise and mentor doctoral students and other junior lab members
- Collaborate with colleagues within the group and external partners to drive projects forward
- Contribute to grant writing and dissemination of results at scientific conferences
- PhD in immunology, neuroscience, physiology or another relevant field
- Documented postdoctoral research experience in related areas
- A strong scientific track record, demonstrated by publications in leading peer-reviewed journals
- In-depth knowledge of immunology and/or neurobiology, preferably with applications to allergic diseases
- Hands-on experience with experimental techniques relevant to the project, such as work with animal models, cellular and molecular biology methods, advanced microscopy or electrophysiology
- Excellent ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
- The ability to conduct independent research of high scientific quality, as evidenced by high-impact publications as lead author and significant results in the field of neuroimmunology or allergy research
- Success in obtaining external research grants as principal or co-applicant
- Experience in leading research projects and in supervising students or junior researchers
- Specialized technical expertise relevant to neuro-immune research (e.g. optogenetics, advanced in vivo imaging, single-cell analysis)
- Research experience in allergic diseases or other inflammatory disease models
- Excellent collaborative and communication skills; pedagogical experience (teaching or supervision) is an asset
- Knowledge of the Swedish language (speaking and writing) is a plus but not a requirement for the position
