They have a hybrid working setup, and you will be required to attend the Stockholm office twice per week.“Happy Workforce, Happy Business!”About the roleWe are looking for a Senior PHP developer with a strong technical background and a strong set of soft skills to join our fantastic R&D department. In this role, you will work as part of a cross-functional team with a focus on backend development.This role requires deep expertise in pure PHP to help build and maintain complex backend systems. This is not your typical web development role—it is focused purely on backend architecture, performance optimization, and scalable solutions for a complex product with a lot of moving parts and complex multi-layered business logic.You will be responsible for refactoring code, improving existing systems, and playing an active role in technical decision-making. We need someone with a strong understanding of server-side logic, API design, and system optimization, who can solve complex challenges with performance and scalability in mind.In our project ecosystem, apart from PHP services, we have services built with Java, so you will have the opportunity to work with new technologies and learn new skills.What you’ll be doing

Working in a self-managing team based on agile principles
Implementing new and maintaining existing functionality in services built with pure PHP
Refactoring codebase to enhance performance, scalability, and security
Participating in planning, discovering solutions, initiating, and driving innovations and improvements.
Together with other developers moving the project toward technical excellence, setting quality gates and standards, and ensuring those are followed, leading some of the existing initiatives, and proactively identifying more opportunities to make the product and developers’ experience better.

What you’ll bring to the team

5+ years of experience in PHP development
Experience and understanding of high-load systems, related challenges, and features
Ability to navigate and understand multi-layered code with complex business logic.
Knowledge and familiarity with monitoring and observability tools. Ability to investigate, navigate application logs, and effectively debug and profile the application.
Skills in high-performance scalable system development
Strong set of soft skills, including effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent English, both spoken and written
